Lake Simcoe, ON Pike.

Many anglers think of Lake Simcoe, ON as one of the best lakes to fish in the winter time for jumbo Perch, Whitefish & Lake Trout and rightly so. But Lake Simcoe also has an excellent Pike fishery throughout the open water season.

Lake Simcoe Pike. — Two nice-size Northern Pike and one jumbo perch caught in Cook’s Bay, Lake Simcoe, ON.

John Grdosic had a chance to fish Cook’s Bay casting silver spoons and reports that fishing has been good for Pike in the 6-10lb range.

Key areas to target Pike in Lake Simcoe are:

-Cook’s Bay

-the area around the mouth of the Talbot River

-the bays and narrows leading to Lake Couchiching

-Kempenfelt Bay
