Kitimat, BC Fishing Update.
Posted on October 13th, 2021Noel Gyger reports.
Light rain with highs to +8 degrees C. Note: it has been raining just about every day and the forecast is for rain ALL week, this not good for fishing. Hard to predict what the waters will look like by the weekend…that said, here goes: Skeena River in poor shape. Kalum River water high but in fair shape fishing well for Coho in the upper end. Kitimat River in poor shape, “was” fishing well for Coho, Chum and Pinks. Zymoetz (Copper) River is high and very dirty. Note this regulation: No Fishing upstream of the sign at the transmission line crossing (downstream of Zymoetz Canyon) Jan 1 – June 15. Steelhead fishing below this closure is still permitted. Need a fishing guide contact me anytime. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn, Dungeness and Alaska King Crab is good out of Kitimat. If you would like to book a river fishing guide or ocean charter for 2020-21 contact me anytime. I highly recommend you book a trip on the ocean out of Kitimat. Contact Tracey John Hittel anytime via e-mail tjhittel@telus.net or give him a call on his cell phone 250-639-4277. GOOD LUCK this weekend!
