Duckett Pike.
Posted on July 6th, 2022I love casting crankbaits for a variety of fish and often times I do this away from shore and around deeper water weedbeds. I find I can get a variety of fish there that include; large panfish, bass, walleye and pike.

This year has been exceptional for Pike in the eastern end of Lake Ontario. When I’m using crankbaits that are 3/8-1/2 oz in weight my “go-to” rod is a Duckett 7′ spinning outfit that enables me to cast in all direction even under windy conditons. I find the Duckett rods have a sensitive tip that give me “lag-time” for a split second enabling the Pike to inhale the crankbait while the stiff lower section of the rod has the power to set the hook past the barbs.
