Insiders Club Winners spend day catching Trophy Walleye, Bass & Pike with me.
Posted on August 27th, 2009I just finished fishing the Lower Bay of Quinte with the first two winners of the contest we are running in our Insiders Club where 6-lucky anglers will get a chance to fish with me for the day. Peter Brennan from the Ottawa, ON area & George Browning, from the Orangeville, ON area joined me on the beautiful Bay of Quinte to fish all morning in the pouring rain, and than to dry up all the wet cloths, we had strong winds blowing as soon as the rain stopped…fun, wow!
Both Peter & George had a chance to experience TV show-quality fishing as we used Rapala crankbaits to fish deep-water weedlines from Sherman’s point, all the way to Lake Ontario. In a matter of hours we checked enough weedlines that were fishable out of the strong wind, and that also had the right water clarity (we were looking for algae-blooms where we could only see our Rapala Tail Dancers 2-3’ below the surface). In many areas the water was too clear, and the walleye had not moved-in to feed. By 10am we started catching fish, and literally caught them right up until 3pm.
We all enjoyed getting to know each other and it’s safe to say that Peter and George are now “official†Rapala crankbait master anglers with the photo-credentials to prove it & and “master net-menâ€. Our catch included trophy walleye, pike and one huge bass which I landed on a Rapala Tail Dancer #11 fishing deep weeds in 25’ of water in Lake Ontario.
If you have not entered our Insiders Club, there is still time to have a chance to fish with me for the day, just go to our home page and click on the Insiders Club banner.
