robb_decker_pikeRobb Decker sent us this account of his Canadian fishing trip. “This was my fourth fishing trip to Caribou Lake, Ontario – Canada.  It was August 27, 2009 and a raining, windy morning, but by 1:00pm the rain cleared up.  We headed out to the spot where we always get good numbers and started our normal process. I was manning the boat and trolling my five of diamonds while my partner was casting into structure. He always uses the red and white and I always use the five of diamonds. We were turning the corner when I thought I was snagged. My partner said ‘I don’t think you’re snagged, because your line is running to the left’. The fight was on, it took some where between 15 to 20 minutes to land the fish, but we didn’t realize just how big the fish was until it turned for the last run right at the boat. When my partner netted the fish, it bent the net without even flopping around. This Northern Pike is 46 inches long, and is about 25lbs.

Greatest fishing trip of my life…I love Canada fishing.

Sincerely yours, Robb Decker from Spencer – Indiana.
