Incredible India – Day 10, Barot River, Taragarh, India Brown & Rainbow Trout TV show.

Posted on April 13th, 2011

After shooting our Golden Mahseer TV show we made our way to The Taragarh Palace & Resort in the Kangra Valley, India.  One of the highlights of our entire trip was meeting Yuvraj Ji the who was the Prince of Cashmere prior to the takeover of the Cashmere territory by Pakistan.  Besides spending some time in the evening to get to know each other, Yuvraj Ji was also kind enough to do an on-camera cameo for our 3rd Himachal Pradesh Rainbow & Brown trout TV show.

On this day we met our guide in Barot, India and he guided us to some beautiful pools on one of the tributaries of the Uhl River.  The weather was threatening rain and as soon as we arrived at the first pool we started catching some of the nicest trout of our Himachal Pradesh trout fishing experience.  We again used  used Rapala Avantis and Classic Trout ultralight spinning outfits loaded with 4 lb. test Sufix 100% Castable Fluorocarbon line, Vibrax spinners, Lucky Strike spoons and Rapala Countdown Minnows in the #3 size.  The Lucky Strike Trout Cradle came in handy again to help us catch and release all the fish properly.

The Kangra Valley is famous for producing high quality gree tea and we had a great chance to shoot a segment showing how the tea leaves are picked and processed.

That evening we had a real treat as the head Chef prepared fresh, grilled rainbow trout with vegetable for us to enjoy.
