I also caught the biggest largemouth bass of my life!Posted on September 14th, 2009
My Dad and I went up to Apsley, ON this past Fri., Sept. 11, 2009 and fished from my Swift Kipawa canoe. We had excellent success again. Dad hooked a good sized largemouth as well as the little big guy in the photo who tried to swallow the Jitter Bug. Dad also hooked a small musky, approx. 20 “, 5 lb. or so on a Arbogast Jitter Bug while we were standing from shore stretching our legs. I had excellent success using one of my many Bass Pro Shops Tournement Series Crappie Spinner, the largmouth seem to love this lure. It glides over heavy lily pad cover, timber and through weeds. I used my two spincast combos. with Suffix Elite 8 lbs. test mono. I also caught the biggest largemouth bass of my life, while fishing off a point for walleye, using 14 lbs. Suffix Elite Low – Vis. Green mono., a 12”, 30 lbs. titanium leader and the Rapala Rattl’n Rap in the silver / blue colour scheme.
