Husky Jerk weed Walleye.
Posted on June 7th, 2022I love this time of year when Walleye have finished spawning in southern Ontario and they start feeding heavily on available smaller fish and especially perch around new growing weeds.
This is a perfect time to fish early-year weedbeds along shorlines and even on mud flats especially in the late afternoon when hungry Walleye starts migrating towards shallows to feed before the sun goes down and on-and-off throughout the night.

One of my favorite ways to fish these areas are by “twitching’ a Rapala Husky Jerk #14 just below the surface and over the new weed growth. Good areas to use this technique is throughout the Kawartha Lakes, ON and also in the Bay of Quinte.
Make sure to check the fishing videos on our Italo Labignan YouTube channel and if you have any questions just email them to me at Ask Italo throughout our www.canadian-sportfishing.com website.
