Horwood Lake Lodge “Blistering Hot” Action!

Posted on June 11th, 2009

June 11th, 2009 – spoke with Gary the Lodge Manager and he said the water tempature is warming, and the Walleye bite has been red hot. Many, guests are limiting out on Walleye. In fact Gary said immediately out in front of the Lodge anglers can be seen landing fish! Gary, advised that soft plastics especially those that resemble Emerald Shinners are producing good catches. He also indicated that guests who are trolling “floating Rapala’s” are getting bit often. Gary, also suggests bringing along Rapala X-Raps as the Walleye seem to love these eratic & noisy baits! At present fish are being caught from the surface down to 8 feet, with early AM and late evening typically being the best times to be on the water!
