Heading to Florida? Excellent time for Gulf of Mexico off-shore mixed-catch action!

Posted on June 8th, 2015

I enjoy fishing in Florida throughout the year and two years ago we shot some exciting footage in June. While most people visit the “sunshine-state” during our colder-weather periods, I really enjoy fishing there right through late spring and through summer when the weather is stable, seas are often calm and the fishing excellent. We just heard from our good friends Izzy & Shoshana who two weekends ago were fishing with us on the Detroit River, Windsor, ON for walleye and are now back in Florida & enjoying catching tasty, off-shore fish in the Gulf of Mexico.

Here is Brandon Whitman (their son-in-law), with a beautiful Red Grouper he landed fishing in about 60′ water 10-miles off-shore fishing chunks of bait on the bottom.

In addition to the grouper they also landed a nice mixed-bag of chunky Grunts, Snapper, Blue Runners and Sand Perch!
