Winds calmed down today to 10-12 miles per hour and our good friend Mike Scarlett and I headed out early to make our 15-20 mile run to some excellent Red Grouper spots.
We were not disappointed. Within 30 min. we were fighting the first Red Grouper. These fish are excellent sport on medium-heavy spinning gear.
I have to give the Sufix 832 braid credit for standing up to these hard fighting fish that try and dive down to the bottom and get the line caught on obstructions. We had no line issues and landed about 15-grouper in about 4hrs!
Not only are these exceptional gamefish…they are one of the tastiest fish you can enjoy from the Gulf of Mexico!
