One of the tastiest and most plentiful “in-shore” fish in many warm oceans including the Gulf of Mexico, FL is the Grunt.
Grunts come in many sub-species but the White and Grey are probably the most common caught by anglers that enjoy eating them.
On a recent Here’s the Catch! TV shoot my wife Barbara and I targeted Grunts for a TV show. We not only had fun catching them using frozen shrimp in 40′ water depths using a sliding-sinker rig with a 1 oz. egg-sinker and small #2 hook, but also enjoyed a fresh Grunt fish fry to end off the day!
