While we are in a “deep-freeze”, our friends Tom and Leslie in Florida enjoyed a great day catching lot’s of grouper and porgy’s fishing the Gulf of Mexico.  They had to fill a 6-person charter and had fun catching their limits of red grouper and porgies. As a bonus they also landed a champagne progy and a couple of scamp grouper.

Porgy are a schooling bottom fish that fight great, look beautiful and have large bodies with a small head-area, which means lot's of tasty fish to eat!

Looks like the long boat ride to the fishing grounds in the Gulf paid-off. I have a feeling they are going to be enjoying fresh grouper and porgy on the grill for quite a few meals!
