Gulf of Mexico, FL sheepshead.

[nggallery id=846]My wife Barbara  & I and our pup Mulligan headed out in the Gulf of Mexico, FL today to fish about 3hrs.  We planned on bottom fishing in 40′ of water using live shrimp for bait on a drop-shot rig with Gamakatsu Circle Hooks.

We quickly located a nice area that held good-size sheepshead and landed about a dozen before we headed back in.  Using our Humminbird 800 series with Down Imagaing we could easily see the reef, and the fish on it. We immediately dropped anchor and started catching fish  using our Rapala spinning outfits loaded with Sufix 832, 10 & 15 lb.

Our good friends Izzy and Shoshana Avramovitz, fished from their boat within talking distance and also landed a cooler full of fish!
