Our good friends the Grdosic family just returned from a northern Ontario Brook Trout adventure on Nipigon.
The weather was excellent and they enjoyed the amazing scenery, clean water and of course some of the best Brook Trout fishing in Ontario!
The Lake Nipigon watershed on the north-shore of Lake Superior is world famous for producing the world record Brook Trout weighing over 14lb.
The Grdosic’s didn’t break any world records but they did catch smaller Brook Trout right up to trophies.
Wild Brook Trout take flies and lures readily and fight hard even in cold northern Ontario waters.
The Nipigon River and region is ideal of you love to fly fish as you can fish by wading or from a boat. Some of the best flies to use for them there are streamers that resemble smaller trout and baitfish.
