We have Pink Salmon fishing opportunities in Ontario, especially north in the Sault Ste Marie region. Every year anglers enjoy catching these small, yet aggressive Pacific Salmon that has been introduced into the Great Lakes.
The most amazing Pink Salmon fishery though is on Canada’s west-coast where millions of these fish make their way up most of the coastal rivers. Pink salmon feed on small baitfish, shrimp and other crustaceans while in saltwater and some of the best lures to catch them when they are in the tributaries are lures that are small and resemble their ocean-prey. This includes small pink flies, jigs and even narrow spoons that have an accent stripe of pink vertically retrieved back if you fish deeper water. They may not be big, but they are excellent sport.
