Good time to target shallow water pike.

With fall still feeling like summer and water temperatures still warm enough to swim in, most warm water fish in southern Ontario are still in their summer pattern.

For those of us that like to fish for pike, like Matt Cory, TopSet Sportfishing , this means they are still shallow enough that you can actually catch them casting from shore, or casting to shorelines from a boat. Top presentations are flashy lures that you can reel a little slower like a Vibrax #3 or #4 spinner, high-wobbling spoons and shallow-running crankbaits with a wide wobble. Nice to be able to fish in shorts and even wade in the water trying to catch your favorite warm-water fish in the fall!
