Good Fishing at Lost Lake, ON
Posted on August 8th, 2009Gary Hodge reports. “Two of my buddies and I ventured up to Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge, ON (6 hours north of TO), for a week of Walleye, Smallmouth Bass & Pike fishing.
The weather was not the greatest, and it rained 4 of the 7 days we were there. However, the fishing was on fire. We averaged 150 fish a day, with the biggest Walleye tipping the scales at 7lbs. We hit many Walleye that were 4, 5 & 6lb. To add to the excitement we also hit numerous monster Smallmouth Bass on the surfaceat sun-up & sun-down. The biggest Pike was .10lbs, but we lost many monsters.
Most of our Walleye were caught on sliding-sinker bait-rigs tipped fished with worms, or on 3/8th oz. jigs & plastic minnow grubs. Those fish really went for a “finesse†presentation. The Smallmouth Bass on the other hand hit anything that moved on the surface.
