Florida Shore Fishing
Posted on April 8th, 2009
Bill Deba reports; We had the opportunity to get some great fishing done while vacationing in Cape Coral, Florida during the March Break. While fishing off the Pier at Lighthouse Point of Sanibel Island we ran into a school of Spanish Mackerel. Mitchell landed 2 smaller ones while Eric landed a beautiful one measuring 26″. Great fillets on the BBQ fed the whole family. The next day, using mostly shrimp, crabs and plastic grubs on jig heads we caught other fish off the Pier that included Sheep head, Blue Runners and Robin Fish. Renting a house on the canals in Cape Coral also allows the kids to do some fishing with Roberta and I relaxed by the pool. Night fishing brings in the Mullet, while Mitchel, Eric and Brock were also able to land a few Gar.
