If you love to fish and are planning a trip to southwest Florida I would encourage you to experience sight-casting to these fish when they are cruising in and out shallow mangrove shorelines in search of their favorite foods like crabs, shrimp and baitfish.
This type of fishing either requires the use of a push-pole, or a dependable electric trolling motor used in conjunction with an electric or hydraulic anchor that allows for quick stops/go. It also required hundreds of accurate casts within inches of the mangroves to intercept feeding fish.
Once a redfish is hooked, you have to get them away from the mangroves or you have a chance of getting hung-up on the barnacle covered mangrove roots. These fish are very exciting to catch, and they look and taste great.
