Florida Gulf of Mexico Clamming.
Posted on January 5th, 2015We had fun today clamming with our neighbours Tom & Leslie Mohr. We had decided to look for Southern Quahog Clams which grow large and are great eating.
After trying a couple of locations we finally find an area that held enough clams to make a nice dinner. All of us ended up wading in the water and feeling for the clams in the sand with our feet and toes.
In addition to finding the clams, Tom found a Horseshoe Crab that was cruising on the flats. In many of the old clam shells we also found some very interesting creatures.
This was Barbara’s find, a crab and starfish inside this old shell. We even found a fish in one.
