Florida Gulf of Mexico Black Sea Bass.

I’m having a blast fishing with friends off of southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast for a variety of fish. It’s nice when you can target and catch specific fish on each outing.

This was the case on a recent trip with JR & Christine Paquette when we decided to catch some tasty bottom fish for dinner. Our plan was to head out about 11 miles into the Gulf of Mexico, use our Raymarine HybridTouch to locate a “sticky-bottom” (small isolated reefs), and to catch some very tasty Black Sea Bass.

Our bait of choice was fresh cut squid pieces which we kept fresh with the Bait2Go bait system. Seas were good, and we fished in 50-60′ water and caught a nice mix of fish.
