We are blessed to spend time in Florida during some of the coldest temps and heavy snowfall back in Ontario. Sometimes we go off-shore to catch big fish, other times we fish in-shore and look to catch some smaller fish for dinner.
Recently we had a chance to get out with our good friend Jonathan Katz to target some tasty saltwater fish. We fished a sliding sinker rig, fluorocarbon leader and tandem hooks baited with chunks of cut sardines right on the bottom. We ended up with a nice mixed-catch of Snapper, Porgy & Squirrelfish.
Porgy are beautifully colored, they are usually mixed in with Snapper schools and they are excellent eating, especially on the grill.
