Flat-lining for steelhead & lakers, Lake Superior.

Posted on October 23rd, 2017

Many anglers that own small aluminum boats in the 12-14′ range and a low horse power motor, like a 9.9 can really take advantage of colder fall water temperatures and fish like lake trout and steelhead moving shallower to feed and eventually to spawn.

Simeon Kubassek has been fishing the last few years on the Thunder Bay, ON are of Lake Superior and can attest how good the fall fishing can be for both species. He just flat-lines with a spoon anywhere from 30-100 yds out from shore and just covers water. Besides hooking trout, many anglers that are just trolling Great Lakes shorelines also hook up to some big pike and walleye!
