Fishing report from the Welland River, Welland, ON

Posted on August 2nd, 2011

For the first time my fishing buddy ( Paul Lord ) and I decided we would try fishing the Welland River together.  We launched the boat at 0800 hrs. and began fishing just down from the launch where I landed a small pike.  The lure again was the tried and tested Rapala Jointed Shad Rap in the fire crawdad colour.  This lure proves itself time and time again on pike, walleye, and bass.

Later in the morning while casting toward shore, Paul was able to land a respectable largemouth bass using the Rapala Original Floating Lure in the silver / black colour scheme.  Throughout the remainder of the morning and early afternoon we also landed a variety of panfish using live minnows and artificial lures.
