Fishing for Salmon excellent in most Lake Ontario tributaries.
Posted on October 7th, 2010Tyler & Jason Howick report. We hit a couple of Lake Ontario tributaries this past weekend in search of some rainbows and salmon. A lot of Chinook salmon have pushed their way upstream, with pods of fresh fish holding in deeper pools. Although we didn’t catch or see any rainbows, we managed to hook 8-Chinooks and land only 2!! These fish were fresh, powerful and very difficult to hang onto!! One of the fish was a 40 inch long 30lb female that was safely released to finish her spawning journey. On the way back to the truck, we jumped this beautiful 8-point buck from his bed. Gotta love this time of year!!!!
