Fishing conditions were not ideal due to the lack of precipitation in the past month

Posted on December 6th, 2011

I had a great time Steelheading in the last 2 weeks with Martin Hukkua From Sweden !  Martin Flew over for a 2 week fishing trip to Southern Ontario and we spent a portion of that time walking some of our gorgeous rivers for bows.  Fishing conditions were not ideal due to the lack of precipitation in the recent month.  All of our smaller rivers are very low and clear presenting us with chalenging conditions.  However all rivers in southern Ontario right now are holding fish.  So with a very stealthy approach to the pools and with very finess presentations drifting small roe bags we managed to hook several powerful fall Steelhead.  Light line, small Gamagatsu hooks and small floats did the trick !

If you would like to get into some southern Ontario fall steelhead before the rivers freeze over dont hesitate to send me an e-mail at troutski79@yahoo.ca  Or come on up and visit me at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge this summer for some trophy Walleye, Bass, Pike and Trout action !
Untill then, be safe on the rivers, becasue they are getting chilly !
