Fantastic action fishing Rapalas & Blue Fox spoons for trophy Spanish Mackerel.

[nggallery id=848]Winds were high today our on the Gulf of Mexico and we were leary about going out miles with rough seas.  As fate would have it our good friend Mike Scarlett had left a message on my cell last night that he ran into a big school of Spanish Mackerel off Cape Haze, Fl.  He said the fish hit so hard that he hooked about 14-fish, but only landed 4!

This definitely peaked my interest and we decided to head out to the same lage flat today as the tide was ebbing.  Mike was right on, the large school of big Spanish Mackerel were there feeding heavily and the action was truly non-stop, hooking double header after double header.

We fished the Rapala Concept Ti , Magnum Baja & Shift spinning outfits loaded with Sufix 832, 10 lb. test braid and cast/trolled the Rapala BMX Minnow, the Rapala Max Rap, and Blue Fox spoons.
