Fall is a great time to target Pike as they remain active even in dropping water temperatures. As weeds start to die off Pike will leave the shallows and head to the firsts rocky drop-offs and that’s a great time to located them trolling with body baits that swim in the water column between 10-20′ down. Good trolling speed is anywhere form 1.5-2.5 mph. Just dress warm and pick days where water conditions are favorable.
Good catches have been reported from the Lake Superior bays right down to the mouth of the St. Lawrence. In many cases both big Walleye and Pike have been caught in the same area.
