Fall Jumbo Perch Action.
Posted on November 9th, 2021I love fishing all season long for multi-species. In the fall there are so many choices from tributary fishing for steelhead, trout & salmon to walleye, pike, musky & panfish.
We have been fortunate to get out several times to catch tasty jumbo Perch in our home waters. The most recent trips were with Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishigadventures.com and his wife Carolynn. Aldo and Carolynn found jumbo perch up to 12″ in water ranging from 10-30′. They were fishing drop-shot rigs with worms and live minnows.

I fished Fishing Compete soft-plastics that included the Hellegramite and Lil’Fry soft-plastic baits.

I fished both on a 1/8 oz jigheads and 10 lb test Sufix braid line.

If you love catching panfish and eating them fall is a great time to catch them back in the shallows. Big perch usually swim in schools and once you find them you should be able to catch a bunch before they move again.

Deep-fried or pan-fried, perch taste amazing!!
