Feature image, yours-truly “keep-em-wet” technique.

Noel Gyger reports. Chance of showers with highs to +16 degrees Celsius. NEW regs from DFO as of May 9th. Do NOT target any Salmon, if you accidental catch a Salmon please let them go…and please “keep them wet”. Here is the link to the latest regs: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/fresh-douce/region6-eng.html . I have reports Steelhead fishing this early summer, so far, has been excellent. Skeena River is high but is dropping and may be fishable soon. Kalum River Steeelhead fishing is over. Do not target Chinook. Kitimat River is in good shape. New reg, all Chinook in the river are non-retention. Zymoetz (Copper) River is high and dirty. Ocean fishing for Salmon (New reg for Douglas Channel, Chinook limit is one per day), Halibut, Prawn, Dungness and Alaska King Crab is good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
