Elk Island Lodge, God’s Lake, MN Fly-in Filming Adventure- Day1.

Posted on June 29th, 2014

barb_walleyeWe arrived to Elk Island Lodge, God’s Lake, Manitoba yesterday afternoon which is about a 1 ½ hr. flight from Winnipeg, Manitoba.  The lake and lodge are beautiful. The lake is so vast and has so many islands that it reminds all of us of Georgian Bay/1000 Islands Ontario, but only in a much more pristine setting and with fabulous fishing!

[nggallery id=945]We spent our first day today catching so many walleye, pike and some lake trout.  One of our mandate was to test many of the new Rapala lures and we can confirm that they all worm incredibly well!

rodsWe fished the Rapala Walleye Team rods equipped with Rapala Kaos baitcasting & spinning reels loaded with Sufi 832 braided line and Sufix Fluorocarbon and Terminator Titanium Leaders.

rapalasYou can see from this lure selection that we fished many different Rapala lures in regular and UV finishes.

We filmed lots of great footage catching trophy walleye up to 28 ½”, lot’s of pike and lake trout up to 30”.  Tomorrow we will be targeting trophy pike and more lake trout and on Tues., we will be flying-out about 60-90 miles to the lower God’s River to catch trophy brook trout!

Elk Island Lodge is situated on an island in the middle of God’s Lake, Manitoba.  It is a rustic lodge that offers first class accommodations, food and amenities in addition to exceptional fishing!

If you would love to book a World Class fishing adventure where you can stay in comfort and catch trophy walleye, pike, lake trout and brook trout in some of the most scenic area of Manitoba, I would encourage you to contact Elk Island Lodge at, http://www.elkislandlodge.com/ .
