Ed Dolstra catches trophy Crappie from Lake Scugog, ON.

Ed Dolstra sent us a picture of his trophy Crappie which he caught recently fishing Lake Scugog. As many of you know, Lake Scugog was created by flooding farm land when the dam/lock was created in Lindsay, ON. Scugog is one of the shallowest Kawartha Lakes and that shallow water is ideal for providing abundant nutrients and food for panfish and gamefish. While many anglers get frustrated fishing Scugog, especially in the summer when water levels can be low and the lake can be very weedy. But, many other anglers have learned where to fish for a variety of panfish and gamefish throughout the year, and they do very well!
