Eastern Lake Erie walleye starting to school-up.
Posted on July 12th, 2015Our good friend Bill Henry & I fished the eastern-end of Lake Erie, ON again looking to see if the walleye started to school-up in greater numbers. We headed out to 75′ of water and started trolling towards deeper water.
As you can see above, we immediately spotted large schools of baitfish on the bottom with our Raymarine eSeries CHIRP DownVision. This was a good sign, but the baitfish were not suspended and we did not mark any cruising walleye.
We worked a large area and did mark some walleye and caught some good-size fish. Though we figured-out a pattern, the schools of walleye were not large.
Look for numbers to really increase in a specific area over the next few weeks.
