Drum like warm summer water too.

Our friend Pat Pagano had a chance to fish with his neighbor Benjamin Brown and in-between catching nice walleye, they commonly get a big-fish surprise that usually turns out to be a freshwater drum or Sheepshead as many anglers refer to these fish.

Freshwater Drum are very active as water temperatures warm up and it’s common for anglers fishing a variety of artificial lures from jigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits to hook into them while targeting other species. Some anglers frown when hooking one on, but when the fishing is slow, thy are a pleasant surprise often fooling anglers into thinking they have a trophy walleye on.
