The Kubassek family had a chance to fish the Detroit River with our good friend Pat Pagano.
They caught a few nice walleye, but it was really a mixed-bag of fish. This time of the year there are thousands of white bass and sheepshead which feed on the plentiful baitfish that it makes it tough to get to the walleye on the bottom.
On this trip it was a Kubassek “family-outing” with the kids having lot’s of fun catching. All of the fish were caught on 5/8 oz. jigheads fished with 4″ soft-plastics like the Lunker City Fin-S-Fish.
To some anglers sheepshead are a nuisance, but to a young angler they put up a good fight and they are brilliant silver and gold.
