Detroit River producing lot’s of walleye!
Posted on May 11th, 2016We just heard from our good friend Pat Pagano that the walleye fishing in the Detroit River is producing a lot of fish.
Pat had the pleasure of fishing with one of his clients Joe Di Ponio who owns Expert Windows & Doors in Windsor, ON., and who is also a sponsor of the ICHA Handicapable Fishing Derby.
They fished off of Fighting Island. Most of their walleye were caught in 18 to 24 ft of water using 5/8 oz. jigheads with Lunker City Fin-S-Fish plastic grubs.
The caught 12-walleye in 3 hrs. and all the fish were eating-size. Pat fished the Rapala Shift baitcasting outfit loaded with Sufix832 braid.
Pat went back out with good friend Americo in the afternoon and caught 12 more walleye.
If you love to walleye fish, now is a good time to take advantage of the spring walleye run in the Detroit River, ON!
