Detroit River, ON Walleye & White Bass TV shoot.

Posted on June 2nd, 2013

I just had the pleasure of shooting a walleye & white bass TV show with Jeff Ives on the Detroit River, ON.  We fished the lower part of the Detroit River just about a mile up from Lake Erie, ON.  Strong winds and rain forcasts made fishing tough.  We started by jigging 5/8 oz. jigs with TriggerX plastic Minnows and Worms in 26-30′ of water right along the main river channel.

We caught our first two walleye quickly as the wind really started to pick-up.  Within a 1/2 hr., the winds started blowing hard, forcing us to mind more sheltered areas to fish where we had fun hooking lots of big white bass.

We fished  Rapala Shift and Walleye Series Rods matched with Rapala reels and Sufix 832, 10 lb. test braid.
