Detroit River, ON Smallies and Largies.

Our weather in southern Ontario is definitely changing to fall-like conditions. Winds, rain and cooler temperatures have not had a negative effect on the fishing. In fact, our good friends Pat Pagano and Americo Rizza report that the bass fishing on the Detroit River, ON is even better then it’s been through the summer.

They have been catching good numbers of both smallmouth bass and lagemouth bass fishing jigs/plastic grubs along the current breaks for smallmouth and some of the more protected back-water for largemouth.

Good plastic grubs to use are the Lunker City Grubster and Shaker in the 3.25″ to 3.75″ length with a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. jihead and fished with a normal jigged/dragging action close to the bottom.
