Now is the time to catch lots of “eating-size” Detroit River, ON Walleye.

Boat and even kayak anglers are taking advantage of this amazing spring “jigging’ fishery.

Shoreline anglers can catch limits of walleye by simply fishing jigs along the bottom off the Windsor waterfront.

Shoreline anglers are also catching their share of fish but water conditions make all the difference. Murky waters from Lake St. Clair winds makes for difficult fishing but as soon as it clears-up, fish become very active. Best set-up is braided line, 5/8 oz. jig head tipped with a 4″ plastic minnow fished right along the bottom.

Italo’s Minnow in the 4″ size from Fishing Compete is an excellent plastic grub to fish on a jighead for Detroit River, ON Walleye.
