Crankin’ walleye on the weedlines, eastern Lake Ontario.

Posted on September 15th, 2015

I just came back from two great days of crankin’ trophy walleye on the weedlines in eastern Lake Ontario and also hooking 5 lb. largemouth on Rapala crankbaits while shooting shows for the upcoming TV series.

My good friend Larry Komidar and his friend Shaun joined us on the”lines” and was also kind enough to share a new spot that produced nice walleye.

All these fish were caught casting the Rapala Tail Dancer #9 on weedlines averaging 12-17′ in depth. All of the weedlines were close to 70+ feet of water.

Larry has  been fishing that end of Lake Ontario as long as I have which is over 37 years! He knows his timing, location and the right lure/presentation to use.

When we crank for the walleye there it’s a “no-small fish” walleye pattern. The walleye start at 4 lb. and go up to 12 lb.!
