I like Sam Nicholson’s ( S&H Canadian Outdoors), persistence in pursuing steelhead during tough cold-front conditions in southern Ontario tributaries. His strategy, “When the fish bite is slow, put on a yellow-bead and ‘run and gun” fish. Get to a fish holding spot, make 4-5 drifts, if there’s no action, move too the next spot.”
I like his way of thinking, not just to cover water, but also to shake the chill off. Looks like it works.
My tip for Sam, next time try a ClearDrift Floats soft-bead, they work especially well in tough, cold conditions with clear water!
