Classic Walleye fishing tips, Detroit River, ON.

Posted on May 4th, 2015

Our good friend Pat Pagano just sent us an update on the walleye fishing in the Detroit River, ON.  On May 2nd Pat & Nino fished the Walleye Classic. Their strategy was to start the morning fishing up river in front at Hiram Walker plant right in Windsor, ON were they caught most of their fish in 35′ to 41′ of water.

They used 5/8 oz. jig in blue/white color with 4 1/2″ minnow grubs and also 5/8 jig chartreuse with 4″ plastic worms.  All jigs were rigged with stinger hooks. As you can see they had a great day on the water, lots fun and lots fish! The walleye fishing should remain excellent right through to the end of May!
