Ron Bierstine reports. There are now confirmed catches of a few Kings at the OOrchard River mouth by gear tossers. Also at least one brown trout has been hooked. The last exceptional hot weather was not good to encourage any salmon migration inshore or upstream, but now with the most recent cool down and especially any future wet weather, salmon action should only get better. No concentrations of salmon anywhere in the OOrchard that we know of yet, save for somewhere out there in the Lake. A few trollers have hooked up on fish right outside the River mouth and some fish have been spotted crashing in the 30 – 40 FOW Lake area. Some lite NE winds could bring fish closer inshore, while med or heavy NE winds could bring cold water inshore making for almost a barrier from offshore deep water. Cool NW winds that bring some color to inshore areas are good to target for River mouth staging salmon. We have the 3/4 oz spoons and glo spoons and plugs and spin rods and reels for casting out for the big hard strikers so be sure to check us out.
