[nggallery id=789]This morning we headed out from Por Dalhousie, ON around 7:30am to shoot some dynamic footage catching salmon & trout from our brand new 19′ Seabreeze boat. Glen Meadus, owner operator of Seabreeze Boats flew to Ontario from Centreville, NF to join us for a weeks fishing with one of his boats. Aldo Nava of www.niagarafishingadventures.com, guided us to the fish and helped with all of the rigs and set-up.
Conditions were good early in the morning and Glen immediately hooked and landed a nice Chinook salmon that hit a Luh Jensen Flash fly fished behind a flasher on a Rapala R-Type rod and Rapala RSC counter reel loaded with 500′ of lead-core line. The fish was just under 20 lb.!
From there we headed out to 200′ of water and targetted rainbows. We landed 3-nice rainbows in a few hours and by then the wind picked-up and we had to return so that Aldo could take a group of anglers out for an afternoon charter. The rainbows were hooked on spoons, flashers and flies, all were caught suspended about 30-50′ below the surface in 200′ of water.
Tomorrow we will be heading out early and fishing right off the Port Dalhousie, ON harbor mouth to try and intercept large staging Chinook Salmon.
