Catching porgy in the Gulf of Mexico, Fl.
Posted on December 28th, 2015I had the pleasure of fishing with our oldest daughter Amanda and our good friend Jamie Shepherd recently out on the Gulf of Mexico.
As things turned out we were all in southwest Florida at the same time. We headed off-shore and used caution navigating in 13-14 mph winds to get to our fishing spot.
Once there we fished on bottom using cut-bait of squid and sand perch and landed a variety of great eating fish including; snapper, grunts & grouper. Taking a bit of time to fish in Florida shrinks our northern winters and provides an excellent opportunity to catch a variety of tasty saltwater fish!
