Carp TV shoot from Hamilton Bay, ON.

Posted on October 25th, 2012

[nggallery id=806]Today we targetted trophy fall carp choosing to fish Hamilton Bay, ON.  We fished the bay-side of the Hamilton Pier and used Carp Zoom prepared corn baits as well as boilies and ground bait to attract and catch out fish.  I was joined by Ryan Edenborough, Roger Holton and Jeff Wighton and we all fished carp hair-rigs on the bottom in 25-30′ of water.  Fishing was slow, but we still managed to land two trophy carp in the 22-27 lb. range.

Both Ryan and I used the Rapala North Coast 10 1/2″ steelhead/salmon rods matched with spinnig reels and loaded with Sufix 832, 20 lb. test braid.  The Carp Zoom products we used worked excellent.  We are planning to fish the bay again sometime next week (weather permitting) again for trophy carp.  Most people fish carp from spring to summer, but hardy anglers who don’t mind fishing colder weather can catch some of the biggest carp of the year fishing in the fall, in deeper water!
