We all know water temperature can be critical when it comes to locating feeding fish, especially in the spring when most water temps are cold. During these “cold-water” periods finding an area of shallower, protected water can mean a few degrees higher temperature and of course, active fish.
I often look for marina basins that are not open in the early spring so there is little boat traffic. With the With the C-MAP 4D charts I have in my Raymarine fishfinder not only does it show me the marina basins, but it also gives me the exact location of docks as well as bottom contour lines. I always use this information in conjunction with my fishfinder and DownVision to mark key fish holding areas & fish at the same time.
If you are looking to upgrade your charts on your present fishfinder, or you are planning on getting a new one, you should really consider C-Map charts, they will meet all of your fishing & boating chart needs.
