Brunswick Lake, ON Fishing Trip.

Posted on August 8th, 2009

For several years my wife Barbara, myself and the camera crew travelled to the Kapuskasing, ON area to film wilderness TV shows.  The fishing is excellent there.  Over the years we filmed at Rufus Chain of Lakes (Opasatika River System), the Kapuskasing, Groundhod, & Matagami River Systems, Remi Lake , Krystal & Brunswick Lalke.  All of these are within a 1 hr. drive of Kapuskasing.   Well, just recently Bill Deba (host of our Sthil Timbersports Canada TV series), had a chance to take his two sons fishing at Brunswick Lake, ON for some trophy walleye with our friend Bob Balantyne who lives in Kapuskasing, ON.  The trip into Brunswick Lake is an adventure in itself since the trail is rough and wet.  An Argo amphibious, all-wheel drive vehichle is the safest way to get in, even while trailering a 14′ boat.  The boys report the walleye fishing was good and they caught lot’s of fish just fishing with jigs/plastic grubs/bait near the bottom.

Bob loves animals and on a recent trp to Chapleau, ON, he had a chance to stop and treat a couple of black bears with jujubes and granola bars.   If you love to fish, Kapuskasing offers anglers excellent walleye, perch & pike fishing on many of the nearby lakes and rivers.  If you would like to get more info., you can go to,  http://www.kapuskasing.ca/portal/en/kapuskasing/tourism/fishing .
