Brian Sokolich hooks a trophy carp while casting spoons for Lake Ontario browns.

Brian Sokolich took advantage of the nice day today and headed down to Lake Ontario to cast spoons for Brown Trout. I bet he thought he hooked a trophy when he felt this fish on that turned-out to be a trophy carp…..on a spoon, go figure! Brian relayed to me that once while fishing Rice Lake at night for walleye and casting a Rapala, he also hooked and landed a trophy carp that hit the lure. I think Brian was meant to be a carp fisherman….can you imagine the size of carp he would catch if he used carp bait? Way to go Brian.
